Entre terre et ciel

To mark the event of this exhibition, Isabelle de Mévius commissioned the artist to create a sculpture that assume a permanent place in the landscape of Notre-Dame St., unveiled on March 17, 2016.

 

Documentary

A documentary film, produced by Éditions de Mévius for the exhibition, introduces visitors to the artist’s creative process, documenting the creation of this work of public art from conception through to production and installation.

Jean-Pierre Morin was born in St-Anselme de Dorchester in 1951. After studying sculpture for three years at École de sculpture de Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, he completed his studies at Université Laval and Concordia University. He has taught visual arts at the college and university level for almost twenty years. He exhibits frequently in Québec and Canada, and has also shown in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver, Miami, Paris, Nice, Cologne, Barcelona, and Madrid. Morin has created more than thirty works of public art since 1988, of which some twenty were made in the context of the integrated art and architecture program.
